Keifer: Ready to Run Now April 30th, 2008

After months of small short steps, Keifer made huge strides today. On the way home from the office today, NewDad got the call.

NewMom: “Guess what your son is doing?”

NewDad: thinking, uh oh - not sure how this is going to play out… Is he throwing pees and carrots? Pullings the dog’s hair?… hmmm… “Uh, not sure, what’s he doing?”

NewMom: “Walking! He just walked all the way across our bedroom!”

NewDad: “I’ll be home in just a few…”

I pulled into the garage and rushed up stairs. Keifer was still using our laundry cart as a walker and then he decided to do it again! He let go of the laundry cart, held up his arms and just started walking. The look of pure accomplishment and joy on his face is one of those looks and times that will stay with you forever.

Below is a pic I snapped just before bath time this evening. He’s showing off his walking skills. He seems ready to run, that’s probably tomorrow. :-)
