Introducing Keifer Meade October 19th, 2006

Yes, we have been calling him “K4” throughout the pregnancy, but we’ve now decided that this baby’s nickname will be Keifer. And yes, it is spelled with an “ei” rather than “ie” like Kiefer Sutherland, mainly to eliminate the confusion of learning to spell his nickname with “ie” and his real name as “ei.” Two reasons for the name: (1) Keifer apparently means “barrel-maker” or “pine tree.” Since Ashley is “dweller of the ash grove” and Keith is “forest” we figured we’d go with the family tree theme; and (2) Keifer sounds like a Southern version of K4:)
